Do you know George Eliot was a woman? It was her pen name and her real name was ‘Mary Anne Evans’. She adopted this pen name because in those women writers were not considered as good as men. She wrote several famous novels like:

Adam Bede (1859), The Mill on the Floss (1860), Silas Mariner (1861), Middlemarch (1871–72), and Daniel Deronda (1876).
